Mr Thomas Flynn. 1971.

Mr Thomas F Flynn was Honoured in 1971.

The outstanding services given to the trade by Mr Thomas F Flynn had received further recognition, this time from the Glasgow and District Licensed Trade Defence Association.

At a recent meeting of the directors, on the proposal of George Grier, president, it was agreed that Mr Flynn be appointed an honorary member of the Association, of which Mr Flynn was a pst president.

It is only the second such appointment the Association had made the first having been to Mr James Millen.

In addition to his work for the Glasgow Association, Mr Flynn, of course, was also known for his service to the Scottish Licensed Trade Association of which he was a past president and in recognition of which the Association appointed him an honorary president.

Prominent also in veto defence work, Mr Flynn was a past chairman and an honorary president of the Scottish Licensed Trade Veto Defence Fund.

Mr Flynn was also the first Scotsman to become chairman of the National Consultative Council of the Retail Liquor Trade.

His brother John Flynn was junior vice-president of the Glasgow Association.

End.
