Gorbals Street was formerly known as Main Street, Gorbals.

There has been a pub on this site since the early 1870s. In 1881 wine & spirit merchant John MacKenzie was landlord , he also owned a pub at 38 Adelphi Street, Gorbals.

Licensees... 1877-1880 William Fraser, he also had a public house at 43-45 Rutherglen Loan.

1881-1912 James McKenzie, the Glasgow Royal Princes Theatre Company owned the property.

1914-1920s Mary McKenzie.

1937-1947 Mrs Margaret McKenzie Graham.

1950 Joseph McCardle.

1960 John Harrington.

1972 Mary Docherty.
