In 1962, at Dunfermline Sheriff Court, Alexander Morrison, labourer, 23 Nith Street, Dunfermline, was found guilty, after trial, of having, on November 18, 1961, broken into the residential part of the Brucefield Hotel, Dunfermline, and attempted to force open a door leading to the public bar and lounge section, with intent to enter the bar and steal; and 2 broken into the public bar and lounge section and stolen two bottles of whisky, four half bottles of whisky, four quarter bottles of whisky, two half bottles of rum, 12 miniature bottles of spirits, two bottles of liqueur, a quantity of cigarettes and an unknown total of money.
Sheriff J S Mowat imposed a fine of £20.
