John Divers

John Divers was a musical man and a professional baritone, several members of his family were also talented musicians. His son John Bradley Divers who assisted him in the running of the bar was an accomplished pianist and a teacher of music, his qualifications being L.R.A.M., A.R.C.M and A.T.C.L. Also associated with him in the business was his wife and another son Raymond who held a licence in the Broomielaw. One of his daughters, Audrey was a talented mezzo-soprano. His eldest son was a foreman electrician with Messrs Barr & Stroud, Ltd. All his sons were educated at Kelvinside Academy.
